How To Link A Contact With A Deal

Keeping track of your deals is an important aspect of your business process. When you convert a "Lead" to a "Deal", Distributed Source automatically adds the associated contact with the deal so you know which contacts are to be dealt with.

Sometimes, you may want to associate additional contacts with a deal.  This article explains how to link a contact with a deal:

1. Login to your Distributed Source account.

2. Go to the 'Contacts' tab. All the contacts which are a part of your account will be displayed here.

3. Click on the contact whom you want to link to a deal.

4. In the rightmost frame, click on the 'Deals' tab.

6. Now you need to decide if you want to link the contact with an existing deal or whether you want to create a new deal and associate the chosen contact with it. If you want to link the contact with an existing deal, continue to step 7. Else, skip to step 8.

7. If you decided on associating the contact with an existing deal,

  • Click on the '+Existing' button.

  • Type in the first few initials of the deal name in the text box.

  • All the deals which are similar will be displayed in a drop-down menu.

D) Select the deal to be linked with this contact and click on the '+Add' button.

E) The deal will now be successfully linked to the chosen contact.

9. If you have decided on associating the contact with a new deal, follow these steps:

F) Click on the '+New' button.

G) A pop-up titled 'Create New Deal' will be displayed on your screen

H) Add the deal details (name and notes) in the respective fields.

I) Once done, click on the 'Create This Deal' button.

J) The new deal's details will now be successfully saved and your contact will be linked to this deal.
